When bought on its own, your sample pack will arrive in one of our Board Backed Envelopes.

Simplelifeco compostable mailers and poly bags are made from a blend of cornstarch and biodegradable polymers.

Following our successful certification, our mailers poly bags have met the strict criteria of the EN13432 European Composting Standard and are permitted to be advertised and labelled ‘compostable’ and also include the seedling label. 

Our paper mailers and board backed envelopes have met the strict criteria of the FSC® Chain of Custody and are labelled with the tick tree logo (please note that the small mailer is yet to display the logo, but is fully certified FSC®).

All of our mailers have been tested in wet weather conditions and are fully weatherproof, able to survive even the grumpiest of British weather!

Simply pop the used compostable mailer in the food waste collection bin and it will be taken to the industrial composting facility.

In order to be suitable for composting, products and materials need to meet the strict criteria of the European EN13432 industrial standard… which ours do!

In the industrial facility, controlled conditions like temperature and humidity encourage bacteria and their enzymes to digest the compostable polymers as a source of nutrition and your mailer will breakdown in just 6-12 weeks!


Paper is widely recycled, so you can put your used paper mailers and envelopes in with your kerbside recycling. Or if you have green fingers, you can shred the mailers to add to your compost heap!

Not only does paper help to soak up any excess liquid in the compost, but it can provide an excellent source of carbon. A healthy compost thrives on a ratio of 25 parts carbon to 1 part nitrogen. Since paper is almost entirely carbon, it can help to balance a compost that has a little too much nitrogenous matter like fruit and veg scraps.
